Alejandro Jodorowsky’s 1973 hallucinatory holy journey returns to Ann Arbor for a special midnight engagement on Saturday, September 25 presented by HOTT LAVA and State Theatre!
Paid for by John & Yoko and influenced by heavy spirituality & perhaps a touch of LSD, The Holy Mountain is an epic film following seven powerful mortals as they attempt to ascend a mountain said to unite Heaven & Earth! Along the way are prostitutes hanging out with apes, a dwarf with no hands, scenes of unexplainable beauty and gore, and a group of cloaked immortals (or are they?). All this set to a blazing score performed by Don Cherry (Mr. Brown Rice himself!).
If you’ve seen it before, we figure you’re going to come. If you’ve never seen it, by the end you will be chanting: “YOU ARE EXCREMENT! YOU CAN CHANGE YOURSELF INTO GOLD!”*
- That’s a reference to the film. See it to believe it!
